Meet your coiach

Hi. I’m Ray.

I’ve spent my life building what I call “vision with legs”—because a dream doesn’t matter if you can’t execute it. From launching a youth ministry that reached 400 students a week to now leading cross-campus operations as Executive Pastor and Chief of Staff at The Word Church, I’ve seen firsthand how culture and systems transform ideas into impact.

But I didn’t get here alone. I’m the product of incredible parents—Drs. R.A. and Victory Vernon—who gave me access and development you can’t put a price tag on. Their investment not only shaped my calling but also my capacity to lead. Today, I carry those lessons into every space I serve.

Coaching provides me the opportunity to share that same level of insight and intentionality with leaders who are committed to growth. I help pastors and teams design structures that scale, create cultures that carry vision, and lead with both authenticity and precision. Whether I’m in the pulpit, the boardroom, or the studio, my goal is the same: to help leaders steward their assignment with clarity, confidence, and results.

How it works

  • Step 1: Book a call

    It all starts with a simple conversation. You’ll schedule a free introduction call where we’ll talk through your current reality, your goals, and whether coaching with me is the right fit for your season of leadership.

  • Step 2: Clarify

    In our first session, I’ll help you identify your biggest opportunities and pressure points. Together, we’ll get clear on where you are right now and where you want to go.

  • Step 3: Coach

    From there, we’ll meet 1-on-1 for personalized coaching sessions. I don’t use canned content or cookie-cutter strategies—everything we cover will be practical, honest, and tailored to your reality.

  • Step 4: Implement

    After every call, I’ll create resources based on your needs: drafting SOPs, building meeting agendas, designing org charts, developing marketing plans, mapping budgets, or preparing system presentations. And between sessions, you’ll have direct access to me through voice notes, text, and email. Think of me as your Swiss Army knife—the versatile tool you can use to grow your church with clarity and confidence.
